Lot Description
1891-CC $1 MS67 NGC. VAM-4. A scarce variety that features a faintly repunched mintmark. This is an exciting piece that offers amazingly clean surfaces and a rich, frosty glow across both sides that induces a pleasing cartwheel sheen in the fields. Boldly struck, with just a hint of incompleteness noted directly above the ear, where faint roller marks may have inhibited a full striking impression. Overall, however, a remarkable specimen that will entice the specialist in Carson City dollars; especially since it is one of only two examples of the '91-CC (all varieties) graded at MS67: one apiece at NGC and PCGS (10/08). From The Sanderson Family Collection.
