This Choice Mint State Morgan dollar from the final year of Carson City Mint coinage is fully brilliant, highly lustrous, and sharply struck. The eye appeal is strong for the grade as attested to by the CAC "green bean" sticker of approval. Only 677,000 examples of the date were struck. In the Bowers-Whitman reference on the Morgan dollar series, Dave Bowers notes: "Mint State 1893-CC dollars are well known for being extensively bagmarked, some actually appearing quite abused. Accordingly, the majority of Mint State pieces are in lower MS grades. A piece MS-63 or finer, with minimum bagmarks is a numismatic find and is very special. Discount poor strikes and "baggy" coins, and you'll find that remaining pieces in the marketplace are few and far between. A really choice 1893-CC in any grade from MS-63 upward will be a find." We can assure you that the present coin is far from "baggy" and is "really choice" as well. Destined for strong bidding competition.
