This 1893-S dollar, key to the series, has pearl gray surfaces that are essentially abrasion-free, save for a couple of superficial blemishes on each side. Some hints of mint luster are seen in the protected areas. Boldly struck, if slightly weak over the centers. Only 100,000 pieces were produced, the lowest circulation strike mintage in the series. Furthermore the survival rates of this date and mint were low, thus any high circulated grade survivors are coveted as well.
