Lot Description
1895-S Morgan Silver Dollar. MS-65 (PCGS). CAC. OGH. A rare date in all grades, but available for a price up to MS-64 where 373 are noted. However, obtaining a full Gem requires considerably more patience as a mere 31 have been graded by PCGS at this level with 4 finer of this date in all three combinations. The present coin is bright white and lustrous save for a blush of light gold hues spanning the obverse and reverse. The fields show trace reflectivity. Surface quality is what sets this piece apart from the many, as there are so few value impairing scuffs to be found. Note the quality of Liberty's cheek and neck, with scarcely any evidence of bag adventures on this critical surface. For identification there is a tiny planchet streak from the knot of the ribbon down to the top of S mintmark, hallmarking this unique and desirable rarity.
