Lot Description
1901 Morgan Silver Dollar. MS-62 (NGC). Lustrous and pleasing with delicate russet and blue toning flecks at the rims, mostly bright silver. A few shallow marks are present from bag handling, but this rare date is almost never found in full Mint State and remains one of the most coveted condition rarities in the Morgan dollar series. A relatively smooth cheek on Liberty enhances the desirability of this modest grade, despite a few shallow scuffs and nicks. Considering the immense numbers of coins submitted of this particular issue, there are precious few Mint State pieces available, and the date is virtually unobtainable in Choice and Gem grades.
