Lot Description
1904 $1 MS66 PCGS Secure. For more than a decade, the 1904 was the "last of the silver dollars" made at Philadelphia, before the Peace dollar (and the 1921 Morgan dollars introduced out of necessity when the aforementioned design was not ready on time) intervened. Fewer than 2.8 million examples were struck and they were not saved with much purpose, so better-than-Gem pieces are condition rarities. This MS66 example is richly toned with narrow green-gold outer bands that fade through blue and violet, ending in broad rose-gray centers. Population: 17 in 66, 0 finer (10/13).
