Lot Description
1921-D $1 MS66+ PCGS. CAC. Morgan dollars from this date are not well known for a high degree of technical merit or visual appeal. Manufactured in enormous quantities, the typical production quality was poor, regardless of the mint of origin. This Premium Gem example is a noteworthy exception to the rule. Sharply struck over both sides, the coin displays essentially full definition on Liberty's hair curls and on most features of the eagle's design on the reverse. Highly lustrous and well-preserved, the obverse is decorated in a variegated scheme of blues, reds, and greens, and a similar rainbow of delightful hues decorates the reverse periphery. A great coin that will impress any Morgan dollar collector. Population: 20 in 66+, 8 finer (4/14).
