Lot Description
1904 Lewis and Clark Exposition Gold Dollar. MS-64 (PCGS). Lustrous and sharply struck with hints of olive and rose iridescence. The issue commemorates the centennial of the famous Lewis and Clark Expedition which resulted in the exploration of much of the vast unsettled territory between Saint Louis, Missouri and the Pacific Ocean. The explorers passed through territory now embodied within -- or along the boundaries of -- the present-day states of Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Washington, and Oregon.
