Lot Description
1868 Three-Dollar Gold Piece. MS-62 (PCGS). Rich orange-gold in color with lustrous fields and a sharp strike on the devices. Aside from a couple of dates, virtually all $3 gold coins are rare with tiny mintages and low survival rates. For 1868 there were 4,850 pieces coined for circulation and despite scattered nicks and scuffs, the eye appeal remains high for this issue.
