Pale honey gold with lively rose highlights. Evenly circulated but with few marks that are readily apparent to the unassisted eye. From a modest Philadelphia Mint output of 10,960 pieces; surprisingly, a relatively high number of Mint State 1862 eagles exist today, no doubt the result of the hoarding that was commonplace during the War Between the States. A nice opportunity to obtain a moderately scarce Civil War era eagle.
