1874-CC Liberty Eagle. Winter 1-A, the only known dies. EF-45 (PCGS). Medium to deep gold with a touch of mint bloom in the protected design areas. Scattered marks are seen, as should be expected for the grade, but the overall appearance is substantial considering the time spent in circulation. One of 16,767 pieces struck, the most prolific production run of the entire decade, 1870-1879. Finally, a Carson City eagle from the 1870s that can be procured in EF or so with only a modest amount of difficulty. A nice opportunity for eagle specialists and Carson City Mint gurus alike.
