Not only is the 1911-S a low mintage eagle with just 51,000 coins struck, but it is also a conditionally challenging issue that is usually offered in circulated grades. In fact, the issue ranks as the sixth rarest Indian ten in Mint State (per Jeff Ambio in the 2008 revision to A Handbook of 20th Century United States Gold Coins: 1907-1933, originally by David W. Akers). Highly lustrous with vivid orange gold patina, this lovely BU also sports a razor sharp strike and minimally abraded surfaces.
