Lot Description
1916-S $10 MS64 NGC. Most surviving 1916-S Indian ten dollar pieces are in the About Uncirculated to low-level Mint State grade range. Select and near-Gem examples become quite scarce, and higher-grade coins are extremely rare. The frosty surfaces of this MS64 specimen yield pleasing luster and attractive peach-gold color with blushes of subtle mint-green. Its design features are well struck, including strong definition on the 1 and 9 of the date, digits that are sometimes soft. A few minute marks, more so on the reverse, preclude Gem classification. Census: 30 in 64, 7 finer (11/11).
