Lot Description
1925-S 50C California MS68 PCGS Secure. Ex: Bruce Scher. Congressional legislation approved on February 24, 1925, authorized three commemorative half dollar issues, Vermont, California, and Vancouver. That legislation authorized as many as 300,000 California half dollars to be struck at the Mints (plural) of the United States. Today, we know that only 86,594 examples were distributed, and they were only struck in San Francisco. This amazing Superb Gem is one of just five examples that PCGS has awarded the MS68 grade (11/12), exhibiting stunning surfaces with satin luster beneath delicate gold and iridescent toning.
