A splendid gem example having satiny luster. Attractively toned in blended gold, blue, crimson, and sea green. Issued to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the founding of New Netherland (Nieuw-Nederland) by Dutch colonists, which occurred in 1624, just four years after to the landing of the Pilgrims in what is now Plymouth, Massachusetts. Although 142,080 were originally issued, fewer than 50 survors have merited as grade of MS-67 or finer from PCGS.
