Jaime Hernandez: The 1844/81 Large Cent variety originally had the date impressed upside down, then it was impressed correctly the second time. Therefore, creating an overdate variety. This variety is fairly prominent. And usually it can be seen with the naked eye, making it a popular variety amongst Large Cent collectors.
