Ron Guth: The Proof 1968-S 5C with a Repunched Mintmark (FS-501) is a surprisingly scarce coin.  PCGS has certified only two examples as of this writing (May 2013) and a quick Internet search revealed none for sale on eBay or on any other website.  Repunched mintmarks on proof coins are far less common on Proof coins because of the extra scrutiny the dies recieve in the preparation process.  Clearly, this is one die that bypassed the quality-control process, resulting in an interesting variety for today's collectors.
