David Hall: The 1923 is semi-common in circulated grades, but it is scarce in mint state. In Gem condition, the 1923 is rarer than all the Philadelphia Mint Buffalos that follow except for the 1924. Like most of the P Mint Buffalos, the strike on this issue is usually sharp. Luster is typically frosty.
