Ron Guth: Hundreds of Mint State 1877 Quarter Dollars have been certified by PCGS and NGC, mostly in the MS64 to MS66 grade range.  Thus, collectors should have no trouble finding a nice example of this date.  Superb examples are a little more difficult to find, and any example in MS68 is an ultra-rarity.  This date is known for a good strike, and rich, frosty luster.
