Jaime Hernandez: This is the second year in which the Mint struck Proof Morgan Dollars. The 1879 Proof Morgan Dollar has one of the higher mintages for the Proof Morgan Dollar series. Most examples appear to be in PR64 condition or lower. PR65 and PR66 examples are much scarcer. There are very few PR67 examples available and in PR68 condition, they are very rare.
