David Akers (1975/88): Next to the 1862, this is the most common Type III gold dollar; it is readily availaable in all grades including gem uncirculated. Like the 1873, varieties of the 1874 exist with the full LIBERTY, with partial LIBERTY, and with LIBERTY missing entirely.
