Jaime Hernandez: The 1988-S Proof Silver is a common date. It's mintage is over 557,000 making easy to obtain for most collectors. The price seems to be reasonable compared to all other common date Proof Silver Eagles. Collectors should try to find nice examples in PR69 Deep Cameo condition or higher, as they cost just about the same price as lower condition examples.
