Tips on Using the PcgsCoinFacts Website

The PCGS CoinFacts site is structured so that information is presented first in its most basic form. As you delve deeper into the site, the information becomes increasingly advanced. You may choose to stay at a novice level or move to any of the advanced levels - it's completely up to you.

As an example, let's look for information on an 1830 Large Cent to illustrate how the site works.

  • On the Home Page, click on the link to the Coronet Head Cent (1816-1839) page. Important note: Every page on the site has a link back to the Home Page, which is a great place to start over or to begin a new search.

  • On the Cents : Coronet Head Cent page, click on 1830 in the Mint State column of the Date and Mintmark tab. This page provides all the detailed information about your coin.

  • If you are interested in variety information, click on the Show All Related Coins and Varieties link (found in the same “box” as the PCGS # and technical information. This page shows links to all Major, Minor, and Die Varieties, where more detailed information can be found.
